Poon Hill and Ghorepani

Poonhill is one of the most popular hill stations of Nepal to witness the mountain ranges. Situated in the Gandaki Pradesh of Nepal it borders the Kaski district and Myagdi districts. Poonhill lies in the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) because the ACAP permit is needed for this trek. Poonhill lies at an altitude of 3210 meters above sea level whereas Ghorepani is situated at an altitude of 2874 meters above sea level. Both of these two places are one of the most beautiful parts throughout the trek.

Poonhill is just a hill station because of that there are no tea houses or lodges to provide the accommodation facilities for the trekkers. Meanwhile, the trekkers have to spend the night at Ghorepani and have to ascend about an hour to reach the top of the Poon Hill. Most of the travellers hike to Poonhill to have an amazing sunrise and sunset view. Similarly, Poonhill is also an amazing point to witness some of the highest peaks in the world. Ghorepani is not a viewpoint but rather a place to spend a night during their visit to Poonhill.

Ghandruk

Situated at an altitude of 2012 meters above sea level Ghandruk is one of the most popular villages of Nepal. Not only by its rich culture and tradition of the Gurung community but also by the amazing mountain ranges that can be seen from the village attracts a huge number of tourists. Gurung homestay is available to spend the night at Ghandruk village. Most of the homestay or the hotels in Ghandruk provides the basic facilities for the tourists. But the extra cost should be paid for the other extra facilities.

The distance from Pokhara to Ghandruk is about 65 km. Meanwhile, it will take about 2 and a half hours to reach Ghandruk from Pokhara by road. Ghandruk is also the trek starting or the ending point of the Ghorepani Poonhill Trek and you can see many travellers enjoying the amazing culture and view from Ghandruk. Meanwhile, Ghandruk is about 20 km away from Nayapul. Although the distance between Pokhara and Ghandruk is short because of the off-road from Nayapul it takes more time to reach.
