Aama Yangri
With less crowded hiking trails, Aama Yangri is one of the hidden gems of the Helambu region. With an altitude of 3,771 meters above sea level, it offers an amazing view of the 8000 meters peaks. Mt. Everest, Langtang, Annapurna and Makalu are the main mountain ranges that can be seen from the top of the hill. Besides a mountain viewpoint, Aama Yangri is a religious site for the local Tamang and sherpas communities of the Helambu area. The meaning Ama Yangri means the mother who protects or saviors the entire Helambu region. With its long history, the locals of the Helambu region still visit Aama Yangri on the full moon of Chaitra.
