How to get to Ruby Valley?

Ruby valley trek is a part of Ganesh Mountain and trek over Pangsang la pass offers an excellent view of brilliant landscapes and farm terraces. It is a newly opened trek chased by the mesmerizing view of great massifs, unique landscape and cultural values and norms. Ruby Valley Trek starts after sightseeing at the UNESCO World Heritage sites inside Kathmandu Valley. You can also use this day as the trek preparation day.  It will take about 6 to 7 hours to reach Syabrubesi from Kathmandu. Before reaching Syabrubesi, you will pass through the army check post at Dhunche. Syabrubesi is also the starting point of trek for the famous Gosaikunda lake trek as well as Langtang valley.

Then, you will reach the Gatlang village where on the way, you will pass through different villages and pine forest. You will reach Somdang village after crossing Khupra Bhanjyang pass and Somdang river. Then you will reach the highest point of the trek which is Pangsang la Pass and continue your trek towards Tipling. You can explore the beautiful villages there. You can also visit Sherthung village. Situated at an altitude of 850 meters above the sea level, you will pass through different small rivers and forests to reach Darkha Gaon. You will trek through Borang before reaching Darkha Gaon for the overnight stay. After an hour, you will reach Darkha Phedi from Darkha Gaon. In this way, you will explore the Ruby Valley and return to your home destination.

Day 02

Kathmandu Sightseeing and Trek Preparation

At. 10:00 AM: You will do a full day of sightseeing in Kathmandu which includes Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, and Pashupatinath temple. Besides sightseeing, you can do the required shopping for your trek if needed.

Day 03

Drive to Syabrubesi

At. 07:00 AM: After breakfast, you will start your drive to Syabrubesi in a private vehicle. It will take around 6 to 7 hours to reach Syabrubesi from Kathmandu. Before reaching Syabrubesi, you will pass through the army check post at Dhunche. You may also see a glimpse of Ganesh Himal if the weather is clear.

Day 04

Trek to Gatlang

At. 07:00 AM: After breakfast, you will start your trek towards Gatlang. Situated at an altitude of 2338 meters above sea level, Gatlang is a beautiful village that consists mainly of Tamang and Gurung settlements. Before reaching Gatlang, you will pass through different villages and pine forests. The total distance covered this day is 11km which take about 5-6 hours.

Day 05

Trek to Somdang

At. 07:00 AM: After breakfast, you will continue your trekking towards Somdang. You will pass through different beautiful pine and rhododendron forests before reaching Somdang. You will also cross Khupra Bhanjyang pass and Somdang river before reaching Somdang Village. Somdang river is a border between the Rasuwa and Dhading districts of Nepal. The total distance covered this day is 13km which takes about 5-6 hours to walk.

Day 06

Trek to Tipling via Pangsang Pass

At. 07:00 AM: After breakfast, you will continue your trek towards Tipling. But before reaching Tipling, you will cross the Pangsang Pass (3,845m)  which is also the highest point of the trek. From the top of Pangsang Pass, you will get to see the marvelous Ganesh Himal and Manaslu Peak. After a few hours of walking, you will reach Tipling (1875m)  with the maximum settlement of Tamangs mostly with Buddhist monasteries and Christian churches. You can explore the village and interact with the locals as well as learn about their authentic cultures and traditions afterwards. The total distance covered this day is 14km which takes about 6-7 hours to walk.

Day 07

Trek to Chalish

At. 07:00 AM: Today, you will start your trek towards Chalish. You will also visit the Serthung village situated about 100 meters above Chalish village. Shertung village is also an admirable village filled with Tamang people mostly like other villages around this region. Overnight stay at Chalish village. On this day, a very minimum distance is covered which takes about one hour.

Trek to Darkha Gaon

At. 07:00 AM: Have a quick breakfast, and you will start your journey towards Darkha Gaon. Situated at an altitude of 850 meters above sea level, you will pass through different small rivers and forests to reach Darkha Gaon. You will trek through Borang before reaching Darkha Gaon. Overnight stay at Darkha Gaon. The total distance covered this day is 23km which takes about 7-8 hours to walk.

Day 09

Trek to Darkha Phedi, drive to Kathmandu

At 07:00 AM: After breakfast, you will walk to Darkha Phedi from Darkha Gaon which will take about an hour. After reaching Darkha Phedi, you will drive to return back to  Kathmandu. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will be transferred to the hotel. In the evening, we will have a farewell Nepali dinner together.

Departure

(Have a safe home return!): You will have leisure time in Kathmandu after breakfast at your hotel. Our office representative will escort you to the Kathmandu airport 3 hours before on time to board your flight. It may take 30 minutes to reach the airport from the hotel.
