Mt. Everest, also known as Sagarmatha in Nepali and Chomolungma in Tibetan, is the tallest mountain in the world, standing at a staggering height of 8,848.86 meters. It’s a symbol of pride for Nepal and a dream for adventurers across the globe.
While not everyone has the time or physical ability to trek to Everest Base Camp or climb to the top, that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on experiencing it.
Our Everest Mountain Flight offers a unique and unforgettable way to witness the beauty of Mt. Everest and the entire Himalayan range from the comfort of your plane seat. This flight adds fuel to your journey across Nepal, especially if you’re already booked on one of our main tours.
It acts as a perfect side trip and remains ideal for those looking to include Everest in their adventure but can’t manage the trek, don’t have much time, or simply want a relaxing experience of seeing the Himalayas up close.
Let’s be honest. Everyone has heard of Everest, and for most, seeing it at least once in life is a dream. Well, our team at Altitude Himalaya helps you make that dream a reality.

What’s the Experience Like
Our team went on an Everest mountain flight recently and would love to share the entire experience.
It all started with picking up some of our guests and we headed to the airport. We all were patiently waiting for the flight. The propeller-driven plane outside was undergoing some checks, and we all knew this was the moment we’d been waiting for.
While we’ve done previous treks in the Everest region ourselves, watching Mt. Everest every single time still pounds our hearts!
More excitingly, we were all set for the flight. For some of us, it was a new experience. And just like us were our guests, from different nationalities. Some were constantly asking whether it would be worth it, and yes, we assured them throughout the waiting period.
Once our turn came, we all went in line, turn by turn, responding to NAMASTE from the beautiful air hostesses who were our guides for this trip.
Just a note to you: you can ask as many questions as you want. They’re there at your service!
We all got seated on our respective window seats. Then, we came across a kid who was on a non-window seat. Well, our tour officer himself offered the kid his own window seat and sat next to him, just to make sure he got the best views. You see, at Altitude Himalaya, it’s more about your experience than ours!
Together, we all took off! The views from the top were surreal. We still remember one of our guests saying, “Nepal is this beautiful? I’m glad we made it!”
You see, the views from above are even more breathtaking. They’ll leave anyone in awe for sure.
As we waved goodbye to the capital city, Kathmandu, we were instantly welcomed by the surreal landscapes. Rivers flowing down the Terai region and those tiny villages left us wondering how we look from space.
Soon enough, the plane turned further towards the northern Himalayas as we got glimpses of the Langtang Range. The flight attendants were explaining everything to us and we listened carefully.
We couldn’t gather all the names in our heads, but the popular ones were Langtang Range, Ganesh Himal, and then towards Gosaikunda and the Rolwaling Range.
Skipping the other mountains…when we finally approached Everest, we couldn’t believe we were face to face.
But one thing struck us: The glacier had melted and even Everest looked more like a rocky mountain. The problem is indeed growing. We’ll cover this subject in detail on our Altitude Chronicles soon.
After meeting Everest, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Makalu, and other peaks, it was time to say goodbye to the mountains. The feeling? As you guessed, It was SURREAL!
While returning, the mountains could be seen from the other side of the window too. That’s when one of our guests themselves suggested, “As couples, we should have booked seats in opposite rows. That would increase the chance of seeing the mountains both ways!”
As we landed, we never realized it had already been an hour. That’s how good the experience was.
And remember those who were asking whether it would be worth it in the beginning? Well, all they could say in the end was “Thank you”, with their eyes clearly filled with tears of happiness.
