Anweiti Upadhyay is our freelance travel content writer at Altitude Himalaya, where she covers the culture, heritage, history, travel experiences and destinations of Nepal. With a background in journalism and editorial work, she enjoys turning research into engaging stories that help travellers better understand the places they visit.
Her professional career spans journalism, editing and feature writing. Over the years, she has worked across newspapers, magazines, travel platforms and creative institutions, developing a strong foundation in research, storytelling and long-form writing.
Upadhyay began her career at the national daily Republica, where she worked her way from an intern to a journalist. During her time there, she reported on culture, social issues, public affairs, arts and community stories, gaining experience in research-driven journalism and feature writing. She later served as the Features Editor at The Kathmandu Post, where she edited and developed stories on culture, lifestyle, arts and society.
Besides this, she writes for publications like Shine Magazine and has written content for travel and tourism platforms.
At Altitude Himalaya, Upadhyay combines her interests in storytelling, culture, history, art and travel to create informative and engaging content for readers from around the world. She especially enjoys exploring the connections between places, people, traditions and the stories that shape them.
Her approach to writing is guided by curiosity, careful research and the belief that travel becomes more meaningful when we understand the culture and history behind a destination.
Outside of work, she can be found with a book in hand, at a dance class, exploring new places or following whatever topic has captured her curiosity that week.
All in all, Upadhyay brings together her experience in journalism, editing and research to create thoughtful travel content that is informative, accurate and enjoyable to read.
